ticket transThe ticket you see pictured is a perfect example of how scouting wagers can provide a different perspective on a bet. On October 5, 2017, the Louisville Cardinals, with Heisman Trophy Candidate Lamer Jackson were visiting the North Carolina State Wolfpack on ESPN’s Thursday Night College Game.

The Cards opened as 3-point road favorites against the Wolfpack. The weekly spreadsheet indicated Louisville -33 against the points over three games. NC State was -6.5 over four games. The Scouting Wager’s team charts showed Louisville descending since the start of the season. The Wolfpack was actually ascending since the first game of the season including a win at Florida State.

I went with the home dog. NC State won the game 39-25 over the Cards. I waited until almost game time to make the bet and gained a half a point. If you are betting the dog, bet late. If you are betting the favorite bet early as the saying goes. If I had not used the scouting wager tools, I probably would have went with the Cards.
